Toronto Pastors Fellowship – Mentoring

Today marked the inaugural meeting of the new Toronto Pastors Fellowship and I was thrilled to be there. Pastor Paul Martin gave an excellent paper on the need for pastors to mentor young men. He gave the theological foundation for mentoring as well as many practical examples of how he does it in his own church. This was very valuable – I recommend it to all pastors to read (PDF) or listen (audio) to.
Next month’s meeting will feature Dr. Michael Haykin who will speak on spiritual disciplines. This too should shape up to be an awesome gathering.
Oh, I should also mention that the guys who led us in the music aspect of our worship (Band of Brothers) were outstanding! Their rendition of Be Thou My Vision is my absolute favourite version of the hymn. It’s worth attending just to be able to sing with their musical accompaniment!
